The 22 years old petite singer has achieved a rock star status here during her recent visit to the state thousands of people trailed Sourabhee wherever she went. Road shows, rallies supporting Sourabhee are now a common sight, even in the most remote corners of the state.
In an amazing development she has even managed to do what most leaders have failed to do bridge the communal divide between tribals and non-tribals of Tripura. And her success is representative of the fast changing face of Tripura’s tribal society.
Many feel that Sourabhee would be able to inspire some misled youths to leave the path of insurgency for more creative pursuits. As for Sourabhee herself, she’s just glad to have everyone’s support.
