The company that owns American Idol, FremantleMedia, is suing Palazio Men's Club for trademark violation. They claim that Palazio's 'Stripper Idol' could mislead the public into thinking that 'American Idol' sponors 'Stripper Idol.'
FremantleMedia claims that advertisements for the stripper contest uses a logo with "color scheme, design and font" similar to 'American Idol' and waitresses wear a t-shirt with the alleged similar logo also.
Palazio has no intention of ending its stripper contest. Palazio argues that its show does not resemble 'American Idol's.' In 'Stripper Idol' the contestants have 60 seconds to dance topless, then are ranked by applause from the audience; winner gets $500.
