Dhubri, Jan 9 : A man who had reported to police that his 15-year-old son, Titu Ali, had gone missing from a madarsa in Asharikandi village five days ago, was picked up for interrogation today.
The police suspect that Jamur Ali knows where his son is.

Shops gutted

Hailakandi: Eleven shops selling clothes, medicines and household articles were gutted in a fire which broke out on Thursday morning on Sarispur-Lakhirband Road. Officials estimated the loss at Rs 75 lakh.

Pirated CDs

Dhubri: Pirated CDs that can fetch Rs 15 lakh in the market were seized in a raid by Bongaigaon police and destroyed in front of the magistrate on Thursday.

Fake gold

Nagaon: Nagaon police arrested three persons, Wahidus Zaman, Safiqul Islam and Rafiqul Islam, on Wednesday night for dealing in fake gold.
