Indo-Bangla military camp begins in Feb

KOLKATA, Jan 19 : The Indian and Bangladeshi armies will jointly train and conduct a counter-terrorism exercise at Jorhat from 22 February to 7 March. Five officers and 15 other personnel from the Bangladesh army will take part in the exercise and train with the special para commandos of the Indian Army.

The platoon level strength of Indian and Bangladeshi army personnel will for the first time take part in such a joint exercise, said Group Captain RK Das, CPRO, ministry of defence. This exercise was conceived as both are threatened by terrorism. India has been conducting such exercises with various countries at Mizoram, he said. n SNS
