Sourabhee’s hour of pride on home soil

 AGARTALA, Jan 8 – Sourabhee Debbarma, one of the top ten contestants of Sony TV’s Indian Idol-4 and daughter of the soil arrived here on Wednesday morning to a gala reception by her fan club.

In her promotional trip to the State, she attended a media conference here at Chandra Mahal today afternoon after a warm welcome by her fans at the airport.

“I am very optimistic that I would be the champion of Indian Idol-4”, said Sourabhee adding that she believes that her talent and spirit will win her the audience’s love and support.

The young girl from the North East enthralled the audience and music buffs by her naturally gifted voice and impressive stage performance.

Her journey to Indian Idol-4 began from Kolkata, where she cleared her auditions in the very first attempt. Her effortless singing style has impressed the judges as well as audience.

Speaking to media persons, she said that all the four judges of the competition are her favourite singers. Sunidhi Chauhan is her favourite singer and she was inspired by the earlier Indian Idol champion Abhijeet Sawant.

A BBA graduate from Pune University, Sourabhee is very hopeful that if she completes her competition with success, she can have her chosen career as a playback singer.

Sourabhee is a proud daughter of TCS officer Sunil Debbarma and a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Arundhuti Debbarma. Interestingly, her parents are not connected with music. They have, however, encouraged her to pursue her dream.
