Speaking as chief guest, John exhorted the villagers to cooperate and work in union not only with the government but from likeminded NGOs in order to bring in the desired development works instead of depending solely on the government to meet all developmental works. He also assured that through the PHED a water tank would be installed in the village. The MLA acknowledged the World Vision Mon ADP on behalf of the government of Nagaland for taking the initiative in providing GI pipe and connecting the village with water pipelines and for other developmental activities being carried out for the welfare of the villagers.
Nockyam Wangnao of World Vision India-Mon ADP in a press release stated that the Village Angh also spoke during the occasion, while a special song was presented by the village youths.
Water being the primary source of sustenance, and cleanliness being a huge problem for the communities who have to travel on foot amid the thick forest to fetch water in order to meet their needs, the World Vision through its project was trying its best to do away with this hurdle, Wangnao explained.
And in this regard, the organisation had provided GI pipes connecting the village from the water source, covering a distance of 4500 meters, and had constructed three water tanks in the village between 2007 to 2008 enabling the families and the community in ushering a new dawn, he added.
World Vision India, registered as a society committed to the poor and needy, is a child focused Christian relief and development organisation working in partnership with the poor in India. Fullness of life for every boy and girl, dignity, justice, peace and hope, is the drive of World Vision partnership with the poor.
“We pursue this goal through participatory developmental programmes together with the people, the government and other NGOs, seeking sustainable community based development irrespective of caste, creed, colour and religion,” Nockyam added.
