Health officer arrested for harassing woman in Assam

Guwahati, June 24 : A senior health officer of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) was arrested for alleged physical and mental harassment to a woman colleague in Assam's Morigaon district on Thursday, police said.

"NRHM's Morigaon District Media Expert Pranam Dutta Majumdar was arrested from his residence at Chandrapur area in the district last night, for alleged physical and mental harassment to a woman employee in office," said a senior police official.

The ' victim' woman health educator had lodged an FIR on Wednesday, against nabbed Majumdar and NRHM District Project Manager Arup Jyoti Kalita for harassing her physically and mentally in district NRHM office for the last three months.

Arup Jyoti Kalita is absconding.
