Passenger plane crashes in Islamabad

A passenger plane crashed in the Margalla Hills near Islamabad in Pakistan on Wednesday morning.

146 passengers and a six-member crew were on board the plane, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority Spokesman Pervez George said.

Officials at first thought it was a small plane. But police official Mohammed Saeed said later on Wednesday morning that “it seems that it is a bigger tragedy”.

Rescue workers were heading to the scene, but the roads were difficult.
