I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t get why anyone would want to drink alcohol-free beer, so ArKay’s whiskey-flavored drink is something I will probably never understand. I mean who drinks whiskey simply because they love the taste? Sure it has certain hints, but unless it’s mixed with Red Bull, Coke, or mixed in a Long island cocktail, I don’t get it. Of course I’m not a connaisseur, but I’m sure even they find the idea of an alcohol-free whiskey a little unusual.
Launched with the motto “Don’t Drink and Drive, Unless It’s ArKay” the revolutionary whiskey drink contains 0% alcohol, but its creators promise a taste identical to the real thing. It’s “designed to allow individuals with medical conditions or with religious beliefs that prohibit alcohol consumption, to drink.” No more having to say no to a nice glass of whiskey just because you have to drive, you can go through liters of ArKay and not have to worry about passing out at the wheel or getting pulled over. After five years of research, the Florida-based beverage company developed the alcohol-free whiskey using artificial flavors and ingredients in accordance with European Economic Community (EEC) regulations and within the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations. The so-called “Halal Whiskey” is also certified by the Islamic Food & Nutrition Council of America, which means Muslims can enjoy it guilt-free.
ArKay whiskey is set to Launch December 1st at a suggested retail price of $10 for a 1 liter bottle, and $4 for a 355ml can. Let me know how it tastes, if you decide to try it, I think I’ll stick to the real thing.
