Thai skydiver crash-lands in crowd, killing one

A skydiver killed a 10-year-old girl in northeast Thailand Saturday when he accidentally crashed into a crowd gathered to observe the demonstration of skydiving skills by the army as part of International Children’s Day celebrations.

The accident occurred at 10 a.m. at the army’s Sixth Infantry Division in Roi Et province, about 500 km northeast of Bangkok, The Nation online news service reported.
The parachutist lost control of his landing because of strong winds and crashed into the audience, causing fatal injuries to the girl.
